Accessories

Alligator clip, allowing maximum of 10A current flowing through, ideal for educational experiments where you need to free hands for writing and recording.

Test lead, allowing maximum of 10A current flowing through, ideal for probing surface mount components and test points on circuit board.

Thermocouple, where you can place the probe (round head) onto a substance surface to measure its temperature; use a Kapton tape if necessary

Features

VEGO is a cell-battery powered multi-meter featured with auto-ranging electrical parameter measurements on a 4000 count LCD backlit display. The multiple measurement functions, including AC/DC Voltages, Currents, Resistance, Capacitance, Conductivity and Temperature, make VEGO an ideal tool for teaching, learning and debugging electrical and electronics related subjects. All VEGO packages contain additional set of high quality alligator clip wires to free your hands during testing and debugging.

Others

NCV (Non-contact Voltage)

VEGO has an internal magnetic sensor to detect the electromagnetic field of an AC voltage. In position f or NCV mode, the built-in buzzer will periodically sound while VEGO is in proximity of a AC voltage source (e.g. Line power). The buzzing frequency increases for higher AC voltage.

Current Measurement

In position g or [A] mode, the internal fuse can sustain 10A current for 10 seconds. To prevent blowing the fuse, DO NOT exceed 10A while measuring the current.

Automatic Power Off (APO)

By default setting, VEGO will trigger APO after 15 minutes of inactivity (the built-in buzzer will sound 5 times one minute before shutdown).

To resume the setting from APO, press SEL button so VEGO will resume back.

To disable APO, press and hold the SEL button first and then turn ON the device. The buzzer will sound 3 times to indicate the deactivation of APO.

Safety Instructions

When measuring, do not exceed the maximum measured value specified in the “Technical Specifications”.

Voltage below 36V is the safe voltage. When the voltage being measured is higher than 36V(DC) or 25V(AC), check whether the test leads are in reliable contact, are connected correctly, and are well insulated to avoid electric shock.

When changing functions and ranges, the test leads should leave the test point.

Select the correct function and range, and if there is an over-range, the display appears “OL”.

Attentions

  1. Except for battery and fuse replacement, DO NOT attempt to repair the meter or change inner circuit; please contact our technical support directly

  2. This product should NOT be stored or used under high temperature, high humidity, flammable, explosive and strong magnetic environments

  3. Clean the case with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. DO NOT use corrosives or solvents

  4. Turn OFF the meter before cleaning.

  5. Remove the battery if you don’t use the device for long time

- Unscrew the battery lid at the back

- Remove all batteries inside

- Replace new batteries of the same type

- Install the battery lid and fasten the screws

- Dispose the old batteries to proper recycle centers

- When replacing the fuse, please use the same size and type of fuse
